Exeter Township is a 2″ Class Township. It contains an area of approximately 12.4 square miles in the extreme northeastern corner of Luzerne County on the right bank of the Susquehanna River. Within Exeter Township are areas known by their local names: Harding, Mt. Zion, Hex Acres and The Campground.

The Township owns and maintains a baseball field and pavilion in back of the Municipal Building and Tennis Courts and Playground located at the corner of Coolidge Avenue and Riverside Drive.
